How to become a
Heading to the most magical place on earth for something other than a
marathon but still want to log some miles? Here's where to find some
of the favorite running routes of the members.
Note: This information was collected many years ago and posted on the original Disney Deads web site. Although
this information has been around for some the routes should all still be available (although some places, like the
Disney Institute, have since been changed.)

Boardwalk <1 mile Starting at any Epcot resort on Crescent Lake, follow the path that circles closest to the lake. This includes the actual boardwalk in
front of the Boardwalk resort, and bridges that connect Boardwalk to Beach Club (moving counterclockwise) and Yacht Club back to Boardwalk.

Boardwalk 1.7 miles Starting with the Crescent Lake loop above, continue past the bridge connecting Yacht Club with Boardwalk. Run alongside the
Dolphin and Swan resorts, cross the bridge at Buena Vista Dr., and follow the canal back to Crescent Lake. This course is best early in the morning
when other foot traffic is at a minimum.

Caribbean Beach 1.4 miles This course makes a pleasant loop on the promenade around Barefoot Bay, starting from any inner point at the resort.

Celebration various The residential streets of picturesque Celebration make a nice change of pace from the vacation frenzy on property. Loop through
the neighborhood for as many miles as you like.

Contemporary Head toward the Magic Kingdom, and follow the brick walkway past the entrance to the park to the left of the Monorail station along the
Seven Seas Lagoon. This path is completely unshaded and is best in the early morning or late evening.

Coronado Springs loops of ±.75, 1.6 miles The inner loop at Coronado Springs starts at the boat launch, and runs along the inside of the resorts around
the lake. The outer loop follows the ring road that circles the resort. Note: While the outer loop is marked on a map from the boat and bike rental location,
there is no sidewalk -- run with caution.

Downtown Disney 2.75 miles Starting at Hotel Plaza Blvd., follow Buena Vista Dr. to the Blizzard Beach parking lot. Loop across Buena Vista Dr., and
run back through Downtown Disney. There are lots of readily available water stops at Downtown Disney.

Grand Floridian The path that runs along the Seven Seas Lagoon in front of the resort offers nice views of the Magic Kingdom and monorail, although
lack of shade makes this a good early morning route. Add more distance by continuing past the Wedding Pavilion toward the Polynesian.

Old Key West ±5 miles Using the bike path at the back of the resort, head away from Old Key West to the Disney Institute. Continue to follow the course
to Downtown Disney, and proceed back to the resort. Added bonus: if you go early in the morning, there may be little enough foot traffic in Downtown
Disney that you might trigger the motion-activated music that plays in pedestrian areas.

Polynesian 1.5 miles A winding path makes a complete circuit of the resort, with a third of the course following the shoreline of the Seven Seas
Lagoon. Add more mileage by continuing on toward the Transportation and Ticket Center, or to the Grand Floridian. Between the lack of shade and high
traffic, this route is best early in the morning.

Port Orleans ±3 miles Starting at Port Orleans-Riverside, follow the path along the Sassagoula River to Port Orleans-French Quarter, and loop back to
your starting point. This course is very quiet early in the morning, and is scenic and peaceful.
