The 2009 version of the Disney Marathon, Half Marathon and Goofy Challenge has come and gone, as had the innagural running on the Disney Princess Half Marathon. Many Deads participated in both of these events and the pictures are all here! 09.03.2008 Hey, an update to the web page! A little slow down on the web site development over the summer. But the 2008 Disneyland Half Marathon has now come and gone and, of course, we've got pictures to share. You can see them all here. 05.08.2008 Well its been a while since the web site changed. Since then the Flying Pig Marathon has come and gone and the pictures of the event can be found here. Also updates have been made to the Member Links page and the Who Are You Talking To page. 04.14.2008 Don Gworek send in a bunch of old photos from the one and only 1995 Disneyland Marathon. They've been put into our photo albumn and posted here. He also send in some other old Disneyland pictures from around 1993. Those ones found a home on the miscellaneous photos page here. Also notice that now on the Main Menu page there is the date of the last change made to the web site so you can quickly glance and see if there is anything new. As always navigating to this "What's New" page will then give the details of any changes on the web site. 04.12.2008 Been a little while since we've added anything new. But thanks once again to the hard work of Kathy Wicks we've got another good batch of the marathon pictures from the archives loaded onto the web site. This time it's the Marathon 2001 photos. Click here to be taken to the photo gallery page and then click on the 2001 marathon link. Also the first poll has now been completed and the results are posted. A whopping 20 people voted in the first poll. Let's see if the new one gets a few more votes. Click here to be taken to the Disney Deads polling page. 04.03.2008 NEW! Disney Deads polling place. It is the politcal season after all (at least for those of us here in the US) so what better way to participate in the process than by taking a poll. Don't worry, ours won't ask your opinion on anything too serious. Just something for a little fun. Click here to be taken to the Disney Deads polling page. A new poll will appear every few weeks and a notice will pop up in this section letting you know that one's been created. If you've got a question of your own that you'd like to poll the deads on, send it in and it will get added to the list of polls. 04.02.2008 The page linking up all the archive posts has now been installed. Instead of pulling in all the posts directly (and having to keep it up to date), the Posts page has link buttons to the archives of each month for the past 4 years sorted either by Subject or by Date. You will probably need to log in the first time you visit a link using your e-mail address and password you chose when you joined the list. If you have cookies enabled on your browser you should only need to log in one time. 03.31.2008 Disney Dead Historian Kris Kozuch has been on a mission to find and preserve the history of this group. She recently submitted a batch of pctures she came up with from past marathon weekends. It looks like most of these were taken at the old APD dinner we used to have at the Macaroni Grill (before it was moved to Pop Century). I've noted people when I recognized who they were. The pictures are in the Photo Gallery or you can see the here. 03.29.2008 Don Gworek send in some pictures of old Dinsey Marathon (and Disneyland Marathon) memorabilia. They've been posted in the photo galley here. 03.27.2008 Thanks to the efforts of Kathy Wicks the old 2000 Marathon pictures are now online. There is a link on the Photo Gallery page to them or you can click here to see them. The first batch of Who You Talking To pictures are also now online. 03.25.2008 The web site was updated with new pictures at the 2007 Tower of Terror race and the 2007 Race for the Taste plus other minor updates. Check back here often for details of site updates. 03.18.2008 Registration update: As of today the Half Marathon and Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge are both officially closed. the web site is showing the marathon at 50% full. Current registration information for the marathon can be found here. 02.10.2008 Scott King and wife Tracy welcome the newest Disney Dead into the world. They had a boy whom they named J.P (James Preston), born Feb 10th at 10:44AM. Here is Scott's annoucement to the list: Some of you may already know but I am sending a mass email anyway. This morning Feb. 10th, at 1044 we welcomed J. P. King to the family. (James Preston for those that must know.) He was measured at 19 inches long and 6 pounds 1 and 1/2 ounces. Mother and baby are doing well. Short story for those interested. Tracy called me at 0300 Friday morning while working in Charleston at MUSC. Sounded like things were early but she was having pain so I was a little freaked until I got home that afternoomn. The pains were never totally gone but subsided enough to wait until Saturday afternoon to head to the Hospital. We did bring a small bag in the car thinking that we would probably be sent back home. With contractions regular at 4 minutes, 100% effaced, 1.5 dilated with not the best HR variabilty they decided to keep her. Things progressed slowly despite the contractions staying regular and getting stronger. Water ruptured near 7 pm and epidural at 11pm. Tracy was able to rest a little after 2 nights of no rest. With the baby starting to be a little stressed they decided on a C section . Tracy did great through everything and was a little disappointed to have to resort to that but it was best to have a healthy baby. The staff did great to keep the sex secret until he was out. Once out, he did great ( Apgars 9 and 9) and looked healthy. J.P. is getting the hang of feedings already and is adjusting to the rest of life outside as well. Thanks to all for the many good wishes we recieved, Scott |
